about

“One of the finest of his generation, an underrated giant waiting to be discovered”

Steven Loewy, AllMusicGuide

Ed Neumeister debuts his first solo unaccompanied trombone album, a highly anticipated release for a musical luminary. Truly a master on his instrument, he has created a rare and unique voice, that often evokes the human voice, exploring emotional textures with virtuosity. His career has spanned over four decades, a journey that has taken him from San Francisco, Amsterdam, New York, Austria and now back to New York where he is currently based.

His experience is wide and varied with residencies in major classical orchestras in San Francisco and New York as well as long time associations Mel Lewis, the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Gerry Mulligan, Jerry Garcia and many more. In addition to his solo concerts, he has been performing as a featured soloist with Bands and Orchestras throughout the World for the past 20 years.

One and Only includes original interpretations of music by Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, and the artist himself.
